Jose Mourinho backs Liverpool to return to Champions League final next season (Metro)

Jose Mourinho sees no reason why Liverpool cannot defend their Champions League title next season and make it to a third straight European final.

The Reds secured a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on Saturday night to avenge last season’s defeat to Real Madrid and seal their sixth European Cup trophy.

Only one team – Real Madrid – have defended their title in the Champions League era, but Mourinho believes Liverpool have all the ingredients to go the distance again.
