Jose Mourinho has revealed that David De Gea was fuming with Xherdan Shaqiri’s two deflected goals in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester United at Anfield.
Jesse Lingard cancelled out Sadio Mane’s opener before the break but in the second half, Shaqiri’s introduction changed the game as he struck twice to fire Jurgen Klopp’s side back to the top of the Premier League.
But both of Shaqiri’s strikes had some element of fortune as his first deflected off Ashley Young, while his second effort spun off Eric Bailly’s leg and past De Gea.
And Mourinho says De Gea is claiming that he would have easily saved both of Shaqiri’s shots if they had not been deflected. Read more
