Following the increased rate of kidnapping in the country, the executive vice chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, has disclosed that kidnappers are using unregistered SIM cards to commit crimes.
He however said the commission is not leaving any stone unturned towards tracking the criminals and bring them to book. He stated this at their special day at the ongoing 40th Kaduna International Trade Fair yesterday, adding that the commission has set up a task force to effectively tackle the situation.
Represented by the head, Internal Policy Review Unit, NCC, Mr. Okechukwu Aninweke, Danbatta urged consumers not to open unfamiliar emails in view of the rising cases of cybercrime and e-fraud using telecommunications platforms. Read more
