Kininso, the innovative creative enterprise founded by Joshua Alabi, has been invited to participate in Africa Week 2025 at King’s College London.
Hosted by the African Leadership Centre and King’s Global Institutes, the event, running from March 3-7, promises to be a vibrant celebration of African culture, scholarship and creativity.
The highlight of Kininso’s participation will be a research-led panel discussion on March 4, exploring themes of creative practice, youth-led social movements and eco-criticism. Esteemed King’s researchers, including Raidat Karim, Dr. Adelene Buckland, Dr. Ella Parry-Davies and Dr. Clement Sefa-Nyarko, will join Alabi in a thought-provoking dialogue moderated by Annabel Ali. The evening will culminate in a powerful reading from Alabi’s acclaimed play, Waterside, which examines the intersection of animism, ecology and oil exploitation in the Niger Delta.
“This event is a milestone for us,” said Alabi. “It’s an opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives and deepen the conversation around issues central to our artistic practice.”
The panel and reading will take place at Bush House Lecture Theatre 3 from 6:30-8:30 pm. Registration is open to the public via [https://shorturl.at/V4Xmv](https://shorturl.at/V4Xmv).
