How do works published in indigenous languages travel when translated in English? What, if anything, is lost in translation and more to the point, do we need to realize indigenous literature in the language of the colonizer or should we all go the Ngugi wa Thiongo way by writing first in our indigenous languages then translating into English?
These questions will agitate the minds of guests and participants at the Lagos Book and Arts Festival PRAXIS HANGOUT seminar with the theme – “Indigenous Literature and Translation.”
It is scheduled for 2pm at the Kongi’s Harvest Art Gallery on Monday November 4, 2019 and will be curated and anchored by Tee Jay Dan of Praxis Magazine Online.
