The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sunk so low, especially with the ‘do-or-die’ approach they are adopting for the Saturday, March 9, 2019 elections.
Insisting that “politics should not be a do-or-die affair”, Agbaje, a pharmacist turned politician, advised the ruling party “to be decent and civil” as Lagosians warm up to cast their votes.
“APC is sinking lower and lower with their actions. But do you know what – the lower they sink, the higher we climb. Imagine attacking innocent people just because of their political leanings; shutting down economic activities and people’s means of livelihood just because of politics and ethnicity.
“APC and their supporters must play by the rules. Which again brings us to the message of ‘Freedom’, which we have continued to preach. Violence and confusion have continued to trail them and their campaigns. But ours is just to free Lagos from them as well as the firm grip of one man, and by the grace of God we are going to accomplish that on March 9.
“The opposition party is bent on distracting us with their violence and elevation of tribal politics as well as intimidation, but we are not going to take our eyes off the ball. Our sole aim and mission is to give Lagos freedom on March 9, while theirs, obviously, remains the perpetuation of one man’s hegemony.
“I am therefore making a special appeal to all lovers of PDP and also Jimi Agbaje to go out on Saturday, March 9, and vote. Vote for PDP, vote for Jimi Agbaje, vote for all the PDP candidates and together we are going to take back our state and also make a positive difference.”
