A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Thursday remanded 2 women, Loveth Christian, 25, and Damilola Basiru, 17, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly trafficking two persons.

The defendants are facing a two-count charge of human trafficking and contemporary slavery.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, who did not take the pleas of the defendants, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutors (DPP) for advice.

Adekomaiya adjourned the case until June 30 for DPP’s advice. (Guardian)
