The family of Oba Sadiku Olarinde of Oguntedo in Satellite Town Community, Oriade Local Council Development Authority, in Lagos State has called on the Police to investigate the gunshot attack on the son of the monarch, Prince Yusuf Olarinde. Prince Olarinde who accused suspected hoodlums of attempts on his life over a disputed land, disclosed how they rained bullet shots at him while on the premises of Badagry High Court to serve court papers to the illegal developer. President Muhammadu Buhari will depart for China today to participate in the 7th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled to hold September 3 – 4, 2018 in Beijing. 48,000 Job Seekers Jostle for 2,000 Vacancies in Ekiti Civil Service (Thisday)
No fewer than 48,000 unemployed youths are now jostling for 2,000 vacancies declared by the Ekiti State government in the Public Service. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has chosen the modus operandus for the emergence of its presidential candidate following its adoption of direct election for the presidential primary poll. The party, which arrived at this decision during its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting yesterday in Abuja, however, opted to give a free hand to the states to choose their own method for the conduct of primaries in their respective domains. The Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong, who briefed journalists in the company of his Kogi State counterpart, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and other party chieftains, also disclosed that NEC had resolved to let the National Working Committee (NWC) fix the cost of nomination forms. The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved direct primary for the election to produce the party’s presidential candidate. The NEC, however, gave states the nod to determine how governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly’s candidates will emerge in their respective areas. Daily Trust learnt that the decision not to endorse direct primary for all elections might have upset the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was sighted at the APC National Secretariat yesterday.
