Lagos urges residents to join health insurance scheme (Punch)

The Lagos State Government has urged residents to take advantage of the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme to enjoy affordable health care.

The General Manager, Lagos State Health Management Agency, Dr Peju Adenusi, explained that with N8,000 an individual would have all his health care needs covered for a year, while a family of six needed to pay only N40,000 to enjoy treatment for common ailments, including malaria and tuberculosis.

She said the N40,000 would also cover caesarian section for a pregnant woman, as well as maternal and child care where applicable.

Adenusi, according to a statement on Monday, spoke at the commencement of a four-day training for the LSHS Wellness Ambassadors at the Public Service Staff Development Centre, in the Magodo area of the state. Read more
