Police arrest ex-convicts for robbery, recover vehicles (Punch)
The Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos, has arrested three ex-convicts for allegedly snatching vehicles from some motorists.
The command spokesperson, CSP Dolapo Badmos, said Toyota Venza, Honda Crosstour and Toyota Highlander were recovered from the suspects.
She identified the men as Tosin Adeoye, John Friday and Adeniji Solomon, adding that two-locally made pistols were recovered from them. Read more
Danfo driver held for allegedly raping two-year-old girl (Guardian)
The police in Lagos have arrested a commercial bus driver for the alleged defilement of his neighbour’s two-year-old girl. Sola Ewulo, 38, a resident of Taiwo Street, Agbado-Ijaiye, was arrested on October 24 after the victim’s mother reported that sperm was seen dripping from her body.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, said the victim’s mother had allegedly left her in the custody of the suspect to run an errand, an allegation Ewulo refuted.
Edgal said: “The mother of the victim had on that day, left her in the care of the suspect and dashed into the neighbourhood to buy some provisions. When she returned after a couple of minutes, she could not find her daughter nor the man she left her with. Read more
Housemaid flees with boss’ property (Punch)
The police are on the trail of an 18-year-old housemaid, identified simply as Queen, for allegedly fleeing with her boss’ property.
Punch Metro learnt that Queen on October 19 went away with property worth N500,000 belonging to her boss, Omowunmi Odejide.
It was gathered that Odejide had returned home from a birthday party around 8pm on the day of the incident to see her two children wandering in the compound. Read more
Marketer arrested for allegedly stealing cosmetics (Punch)
The police have arrested a 41-year-old man, Justice Ihetuge, for allegedly stealing cosmetics valued at N1 million.
It was gathered that Ihetuge worked as a marketing officer with Soulmate Industries Limited until October 2017.
It was alleged that while Ihetuge was with the company, he ordered and received goods worth N1,058,858.62. Read more
Landlord breaks into tenant’s shop over refusal to quit (Punch)
A landlord, Adetoye Adebayo, has been arrested by the police for allegedly breaking into his tenant’s shop over the latter’s refusal to quit.
The tenant, Aanuoluwapo Alonge, alleged that the septuagenarian damaged some of her property and made away with items from the shop in the Ipaja area of Lagos State.
Punch Metro gathered that in 2014, Adebayo rented out the shop to Alonge to run her business with the agreement that she must not exceed 9pm as closing time. Read more
