The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) yesterday, sealed-off numerous establishments across the state over persistent noise pollution and other environmental infractions, which threaten public health and safety.
Locations visited by the agency’s enforcement team include Apapa, Ogudu, Ojota and Alapere, targeting businesses and institutions which failed to comply with existing environmental regulations.
Other establishments affected include lounges, bars, hotels, religious centres, retail outlets, fast-food centres, motor servicing centres, and logistics companies. They were shut down for violating environmental laws.
Speaking on the development, LASEPA’s General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe and healthy environment for all Lagos residents. (Guardian)
