A Lil Wayne concert descended into chaos on Sunday night (7 October) after ‘gunshots’ were reportedly heard in the crowd.
The hip hop star was only three songs into his performance at the Georgia Freight Depot during the second day of the A3C Festival when someone yelled ‘shots fired’, sending fans into a panic.
It’s since been confirmed that 12 people suffered minor injuries during a stampede as scared concertgoers tried to flee the venue. A spokesperson added that that there was no evidence of shots fired, but the situation had quickly escalated after someone raised the alarm.
‘At this time we have been unable to locate any evidence to support claims that shots were fired,’ a spokesperson said.
‘The event location is being cleared out by police at this time. The investigation continues.’
Videos shared on social media show people running desperately, thinking their lives were in danger.
