Lucas Torreira would ‘love’ to return to Italy amid fresh speculation surrounding the Arsenal midfielder’s future.
The Uruguay international enjoyed an impressive first season in English football following his arrival from Sampdoria after the 2018 World Cup, establishing his place in front of the back four, adding a combative and tenacious edge to Unai Emery’s side.
Torreira, however, fell out of favour with the Spaniard towards the end of his turbulent reign and was redeployed in an unfamilar attacking role during the early part of the current season.
The 24-year-old has reemerged as a key component of Mikel Arteta’s new-look side but he still harbours an ambition to return to Italy, according to his agent Pablo Bentancur. (Text, photo by Metro)
