A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Ogunjimi Mayowa, at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre over charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke issued the remand order following Mayowa’s arraignment by the Department of State Services on three counts bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of a locally-made pistol and three live cartridges.
At the defendant’s arraignment, the prosecution counsel, Mr. M.O. Bajela, informed the court of the pending charges and requested that they be read to the defendant for his plea to be taken. (Punch)
