David de Gea has insisted Manchester United will ‘fight to the death’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite growing concerns that he will not see out the season as manager.
Solskjaer took over as interim boss nine months ago when Jose Mourinho left under a cloud and initially enjoyed success, picking up 25 points in his first nine Premier League games in charge and masterminding a miraculous Champions League comeback against Paris Saint-Germain.
The side’s upturn in fortunes saw him handed a new contract but United have struggled since then – they have only won twice in the league this season and needed penalties to overcome League One outfit Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. Read more
