Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Marcus Rashford will be released for England duty this week, despite carrying a foot injury.

The winger was not named in Unitedโ€™s squad for Sundayโ€™s FA Cup clash against Leicester City.

Rashford was substituted at half-time in Thursdayโ€™s Europa League win against AC Milan and subsequent scans have shown the 23-year-old has sustained a foot injury.

Gareth Southgate named Rashford in Englandโ€™s squad for upcoming matches against Albania, Poland and San Marino, despite the fact that United are keen for the forward to get a prolonged rest.

However, in a somewhat surprising admission, Solskjaer confirmed today that Rashford will be given permission to join up with the Three Lions. (Metro)
