The Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit has arrested 11 members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers for causing mayhem in the state.
The union members were arrested on Saturday and Sunday for causing mayhem in the Yaya-Abatan garage, Ogba area of the state.
According to the Chairman of the task force, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, weapons including, axes, daggers, broken bottles and cutlasses were recovered from the suspects, adding that they would be charged to serve as a deterrent to others, who might be planning to disturb the peace of the state.
He urged the members of the union to conduct their activities in a peaceful manner and not disturb the peace of other members of the public, adding that anyone caught fomenting trouble would be dealt with in accordance with the law. Read more
