Megan Rapinoe says the USA team do not want to visit the White House after their World Cup victory, but are yet to receive an official invitation from Donald Trump.
The US President reacted furiously to Rapinoe’s pre-tournament comments and insisted he would invite the team, but appeared to back track on that promise this week.
‘We haven’t really thought about it,’ was Trump’s response when asked about the invitation, and Rapinoe has confirmed the World Champions have no intention of going to the White.
‘We don’t want to go to the White House, so I figure that’s why the invitation hasn’t come,’ the 33-year-old told reporters. Read more
