Former President Donald Trump sent a Valentine’s Day letter to his wife Melania Trump expressing his love to her – and asking for money.
Trump shared his Valentine letter ‘to my beautiful wife’ on Wednesday morning and included a photo of the two of them.
It read: ‘Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU!
‘Even after every single INDICTMENT, ARREST, and WITCH HUNT, you never left my side. You’ve always supported me through everything.
‘I wouldn’t be the man I am today without your guidance, kindness, and warmth.
‘You will always mean the world to me, Melania! From your husband with love, Donald J. Trump.’
But the letter, which was shared via an email blast, had some strings attached. It directs readers to his 2024 campaign website.
‘If you love Melania, I humbly ask you to leave her some kind words below!’ wrote Trump above his signature.
Below a space for readers to write and send a ‘personalised message’ to Melania, is a section that gives options to donate $20.24 ‘if you’re supporting President Trump in 2024’, $47 ‘if you think Donald J. Trump is the greatest president of all time’, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $3,300 or another amount.
Melania did not post any message publicly to her husband on Valentine’s Day.
But Trump’s challenger for the Republican nomination, Nikki Haley, did.
‘Roses are red, violets are blue, I love dictators, and they love me too! Happy Valentine’s Day from Donald Trump to dictators around the world!’ stated an email from Haley’s presidential campaign.
Haley’s message claimed that ‘Trump has professed his love for the world’s most brutal dictators’ and included several fake Valentine’s Day carts from the ex-president to dictators.
One of them includes North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and quotes Trump saying, ‘Kim wrote me beautiful letters and they’re great letters. We fell in love’. Another to Russian President Vladimir Putin has Trump congratulating Putin for his election victory and saying that ‘getting along with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing’.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden shared an old photo of himself and his wife Jill Biden on X (Twitter) and wrote: ‘Jilly, you’re the love of my life and the life of my love. Happy Valentine’s Day.’
Melania accompanied her husband to a gala at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday night after being largely absent in recent months amid her mother’s illness and death. The former first lady smiled and embraced her husband and waved to a cheering crowd.
She has not been joining her husband on the campaign trail. But a source in December told Page Six that the former first lady, who is highly popular among Trump fans, has ‘reached an agreement’ with her husband to step up her appearances this year. (Metro)
