Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, Sunday launched his football foundation in Nigeria. Speaking at the launch, the former Chelsea FC star said he is hoping to use the ‘Mikel Obi Foundation’ to discover new talents for the game across Africa.
“Home is where it all started for me. I will always want to give back to Nigeria, my community and that is why I am doing this,” said Mikel “This is the time to do this for the kids and we are going to make sure we make this a success.”
The launch which had in attendance kids from across the city of Lagos was held at the CIS pitch, Lekki. The 31-year-old midfielder who currently plays for Chinese club, Tianjin TEDA, launched the foundation in partnership with Kwese TV. Read more
