MKO Abiola’s family moves to recover Ayobo land (Guardian)

Twenty-One years after his demise, family members of the late business mogul and winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, are set to recover his land after what they termed unwarranted encroachment of his property in Ayobo area of Lagos State.

The move was consequent to a court judgment, which confers ownership of the over 400 acres of land at Igbo-Ilogbo area of Ayobo on Abiola, delineated in Survey Plan N0 RA/144 dated March 25, 1977 and covered by the Deed of Conveyance dated March 28, 1977 and registered as N0 24 at Page 24 in Volume 1620 of the Lagos Land Registry.

Addressing newsmen in Lagos, head of the Abiola family, Chief Muritalah Abiola, said the decision to recover the land, once known as Abiola Farm, was based on the order of Justice Oyindamola Ogala of the Lagos High Court in December 2018.

He stressed that the family had through Radio Communication Nigeria Limited (RCN), one of the companies of the deceased, levied execution of the court judgment on the property on March 14, 2019. Read more
