More than 15 million people have now received their first dose of a Covid vaccine in the UK, it has been confirmed.
Boris Johnson previously pledged that the Government would reach the target by February 15, so schools could start reopening from March 8.
But the goal was achieved today, one day ahead of the deadline, while more than half a million people have now received their second doses as well.
Boris Johnson hailed the ‘extraordinary feat’ in a video message. Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi also praised the UK’s ‘amazing team’ and pledged not to rest until every adult was offered a vaccine. (Metro)
