Motorists plying Igbe, Ijede and Gberigbe roads in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State have accused the state government of abandoning the areas, as most of the roads connecting the communities have become almost impassable.
Our correspondent, who visited the areas on Tuesday, observed that all the roads that connect the communities, including Igbe Road, had become dilapidated owing to regular downpour.
A commercial bus driver, Mr Gbenga Jaiye, said many of his colleagues had fallen victim to hoodlums, who seize the opportunity presented by the bad state of the roads to rob them of the money they make from the business.
According to him, apart from the drivers, the hoodlums also rob passengers of cash, telephones and other valuable.
