A suspected car thief, Joseph Sunday, arrested by the operatives of the Abia State Police Command, has confessed that one Alozie, now at large, reportedly robbed a taxi driver of his car at gunpoint.
Sunday was arrested together with two others in connection with the theft of a Toyota Corolla car with registration number 39 ABSG, which was snatched from the owner in Umuahia, the state capital.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Ene Okon, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, explained that detectives attached to Agbama Police Station in Umuahia traced the car to Etche in Rivers State where it was recovered following a tip-off.
He added that the car, which belonged to the state government, was seen in the possession of one Aaron Chidi and Njoku Emmanuel, who had bought it from those, who snatched it from the driver. Read more
