On the day when the global confirmed COVID-19 death toll exceeded 400,000, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 260 new cases of the coronavirus in the country, bringing the total to 12,486.
What is more, there are concerns that the country may soon run out of bed-spaces at isolation centres, as a matter of fact, Lagos State had only last week warned that this may well happen in the state.
However, the Ministery of Health told The Punch newpaper that only few states such as Lagos and Kano were battling with shortage of bed-spaces.
The NCDC made the announcement of the new figure on the night of June 7 via its Twitter handle.
It also listed 12 fresh deaths now amounting to 354 and the discharge of 3,959 recovered patients across 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
