Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections have reached 41,804.
This is as a result of an additional 624 cases,according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle Tuesday night, also announced 868 as the total number of deaths from the virus in the country, while it put the number of recoveries at 18,764.
As of July 27, the confirmed coronavirus death toll on the African continent stood at 18,160. There are 859,237 confirmed infections and 506,534 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
More than 16.6 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. Some 9.7 million patients have recovered, and nearly 659,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
