Nigeria’s confirmed cases of coronavirus reached 58,848 on Wednesday night following 201 fresh infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in an update.
Making the announcement via its Twitter handle, the government agency said 50,358 previously reported cases are now recovered and discharged.

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in a September 30 update via Twitter reported that total cases in Africa now stand at 1, 472, 433 while the total deaths is 35, 954 and put the recoveries at 1, 217, 457.
The number of people worldwide who have died with COVID-19 has passed the one million mark, researchers say, with many regions still reporting surging numbers of new infections.
