Nigeria’s confirmed coronavirus infections have now reached 41,180.
This is as a result of an additional 648 cases, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The NCDC, which made the announcement via its twitter handle Monday night, also announced 860 as the total number of deaths from the virus in the country, while it put the number of recoveries at 18,203.
As of July 27, the confirmed coronavirus death toll on the African continent stood at 17,682, while844,542 confirmed infections and 489,948 recoveries, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
About 16.4 million people around the world have been diagnosed with the coronavirus and close to 652,000 have died, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Some 9.5 million patients have recovered.
