The governors of the nine oil-producing states covered by the Niger Delta Development Commission have said they will meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the composition of the NDDC board.
The governors said the new board had ignited widespread resentment and demonstrations across the nine oil-producing states.
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr Seriake Dickson, said in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Fidelis Soriwei, after a meeting of the governors in Abuja on Thursday, said they were worried about the composition of the new board.
Dickson said the governors would meet with Buhari in no distant time to discuss the issues of grave concern to them with a view to repositioning the intervention agency for greater performance. Read more
