The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has clarified that the recent fire at a tank farm in Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos, occurred at HOGL Energy Ltd’s facility, not at an NNPC Retail Ltd. location as initially reported by early responders.
A statement by Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the company, Olufemi O. Soneye, said the blaze, caused by a petroleum product spillage within the tank farm perimeter, has been successfully extinguished.
NNPC Ltd and other depots in the vicinity have resumed loading activities, assuring that the incident will not disrupt the supply and distribution of petroleum products nationwide.
