Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has said rather than limit women to the ‘other room,’ there should be a deliberate effort to maximise their potential to make meaningful progress in African counties. Obasanjo, who made the call Thursday during the 2018 edition of the Women Empowerment Launch organised by the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF), with the theme: ‘Smart Economics: Empowering Women in a Changing World,’ said women have greater roles in the national politics than to be relegated to the ‘other room.’ Emphasising that until women play greater roles in politics, they would continue to be shortchanged,.
