A former National Chairman of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Vincent Ogbulafor, is dead.
Family sources said Ogbulafor died on Thursday in Canada at the age of 73.
He was said to have died from an undisclosed ailment, as he passed on peacefully on Thursday night in Canada.
Ogbulafor is from Olokoro, in Umuahia South local government area of Abia State.
He was PDP’s National Secretary before he later became National Chairman.
He was also forced to resign as PDP national chairman just like many others after falling out of favour with some powerful stakeholder in the party.
As a Minister under Olusegun Obasanjo, Ogbulafor was also charged with an alleged financial recklessness.
It was under the reign of Ogbulafor as the PDP Chairman that the party boasted that it will rule the country for 60 years.
The party was however defeated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.
Ogbulafor was succeeded as the National Chairman of the PDP by former governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo. (DailyTrust)
