Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has compared 17-year-old James Garner to Michael Carrick and says the midfielder has a ‘great future’ at the club.
Garner came on in the dying stages of United’s 3-1 win against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night to make his debut for the Red Devils.
United’s injury crisis meant Garner was joined on the bench by fellow youngsters Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes and the trio are expected to keep their places for this weekend’s clash against Southampton.
However, Solskjaer says Garner is more than just a fill-in and has tipped the midfielder to break into the first team. Read more
