NDLEA seizes UK, Saudi-bound cocaine hidden in lipsticks (Punch)
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intercepted cocaine concealed in lipsticks and a property title document bound for the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
Operatives of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation attached to a logistics firm in Lagos discovered the consignments on Thursday, a statement by the anti-drug agency on Sunday indicated.
The statement by the agencyโs spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, stated that a total of 420 grams of cocaine were hidden in 84 pieces of factory-fitted female lipsticks heading to the UK, while 280 grams of the drug were found inside a Certificate of Occupancy being sent to Saudi Arabia. Read more

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have rescued kidnapped victims, arrested suspects, and recovered arms in multiple operations across Delta, Katsina, Adamawa, and Edo states.

The FCT Police Commissioner, Adewale Ajao has confirmed the arrest of Shahru, and indicated that the FCTA staff will soon be charged to court.

The Australian woman, aged 50, was found guilty of these three counts plus one of attempted murder a few hours ago following a week of jury deliberations.
Patterson was accused of trying to kill four relatives with death cap mushrooms in a beef wellington she served them in 2023. A local pastor, who was married to Pattersonโs mother in-lawโs sister, is the only person to have survived. He recovered after weeks of treatment in hospital. Woman loses arm in lion attack at Australian zoo (UPI)
A woman has lost her arm after being attacked by a lion at Queensland’s Darling Downs Zoo over the weekend officials said.
The unidentified woman was attacked Sunday morning and was airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where she underwent surgery. Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls said the victim had lost an arm but was “recovering well” at the medical facility.
The zoo said the attack happened at around 8:30 a.m. local time Sunday. Read more
