Tubman’s story needs no frills to sell tickets – the civil rights activist beat every odd to escape from her slave master in the late 1800s, only to return and help others, who were also enslaved, on a similar path to freedom via the Underground Railroad.

It’s a remarkable tale in history that still stings for African-Americans – and any black person for that matter – today. Cynthia Erivo has taken on the heavy responsibility of portraying Tubman’s in the eponymously-titled biopic. Read more
