The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo governorship election Ajayi Agboola Ajayi has scored the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) low in the conduct of the exercise.
Agboola who is one of the leading candidates in the election cast his ballot at Polling Unit 004, Apoi Ward 2, Kiriboin, Ese-Ado Local Government Area (LGA) of state.
The former deputy governor, however, alleged that the slow pace of the election process was a ploy to rig the exercise. Read more

A’Court sacks MC Oluomo as NURTW national chairman (NewTelegraph)
In a drastic turn of events, the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division on Saturday sacked the newly inaugurated National Chairman of the National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo from the position.
Saturday Telegraph had last weekend reported that MC Oluomo was elected as the National Chairman of the union in a meeting held in Osun State by the SouthWest arms of the union.
Following his election victory, MC Oluomo was on Monday, November 11 sworn in as the substantive National Chairman of the union in Abuja. Read more
Water Hyacinth: NIWA clears Lagos channels, targets accident free yuletide (Leadership)
In preparation for increased traffic on Lagos inland waterways during the yuletide season, the Lagos Area office of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), begins massive clearance of water hyacinth from the water channel.
The removal of Hyacinth was to ease transportation activities and aid safety of waterways users during the yuletide season.
In a statement by the Lagos Area manager, Engr. Sarat Braimah, the clearance is an ongoing project that will cover the critical Lagos channels with high traffic of boat movements , starting with Omu creeks and Ikorodu water channels. Read more
LSETF, SSE-Lab advise Micro-enterprises on tips to grow their brands (ThisDay)
The Director of Programmes and Coordination of Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), Oyindamola Egbeyemi, has advised operators of Nano and small enterprises to use packaging and marketing to launch their products into local and international markets.
This advice was given at the launch of the Small Scale Enterprises Lab (SSE-Lab) and Manufacturing Business Accelerator’s (MBA) Business Showers with the theme: ‘From Vision to Venture: Unleashing Entrepreneurial Potential’.
Egbeyemi, who was the guest speaker at the launch said: “Even if your product is the best technically speaking, if you do not package it well, and protect your brand they might not be visible. Church leader warns against sabotage of new board (Nation)
The leader of the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence( Baba Alakoso), Dr. Clement Taye Olatunji Olagoke, JP, has warned saboteurs against destabilising the newly reconstituted board of trustees of the church.
The clergyman noted that the decision of the church to reconstitute a new board of trustees was in line with the directives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
Speaking in Lagos recently on the true position of the church, Dr. Olagoke said: “After renewing the church certificate of registration(No 324) with the Corporate Affairs Commission( CAC), the EFCC told us that all the church’s bank account bearing the name-The Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Nigeria must be updated with the new registered certificate in the database of all banks in Nigeria.” Read more
Tinubu to host Indian PM in Abuja (Vanguard)
President Bola Tinubu will welcome Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a State Visit at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to arrive on Saturday.

The Edo State chapter of the Nigerian Society of Engineers has elected its first female chairman, Tina Oigiagbe, to preside over its affairs for an initial one-year tenure.
Edo NSE Publicity Secretary, Evans Edionwe, who disclosed this to South-South PUNCH on Tuesday, described the new chairman’s emergence as historic, and one capable of moving the branch forward.
He noted that Oigiagbe also becomes the 23rd chairman of the body and has a one-year tenure, noting that she has the right to seek re-election at the end of her tenure. Read more

Irish actor and comedian Jon Kenny has died aged 66.
The Father Ted star passed away at Galway Clinic on Friday (15 November) his wife Margy has confirmed.
Kenny suffered from non-Hodgkins lymphoma when he was in his 40s but had made a full recovery. However, the much-loved comedian announced in 2020 his cancer had returned. Read more

Facebook and Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has collaborated with US music star T-Pain on a cover of Get Low by rap group Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz.
Zuckerberg said he recorded the track, under the band name Z-Pain, as a tribute to his wife, Priscilla Chan, in honour of their “dating anniversary”.
“Get Low was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” the 40-year-old wrote on Instagram. “This year I worked with T-Pain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”

Kosovo blame ‘‘irresponsible and discriminatory’’ Romania fans as players walk off in Nations League match (Independent)
The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) said it had repeatedly warned European soccer’s governing body Uefa about potential provocation from Romania fans ahead of Friday’s Nations League match, which was abandoned when Kosovo’s players walked off.
The clash between Group C2 leaders Romania and second-placed Kosovo in Bucharest was abandoned in stoppage time after the visiting players left the field with the score at 0-0 when they heard pro-Serbia chanting from the home fans.
The match was initially suspended before being abandoned when the Kosovo team refused to return to the pitch. Uefa had said it would communicate “further information in due course”. Read more

Mike Tyson’s controversial return to boxing ended in a one-sided defeat on Friday, with YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul cruising to victory by unanimous decision against the heavyweight icon in Texas.
Tyson, 58, barely landed a punch during the eight-round bout at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, with Paul winning by big margins on all three cards — 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.
Paul, 27, used his superior speed and movement to dominate the aging Tyson with ease, and had the former undisputed heavyweight champion in trouble after landing a flurry of punches in the third round. Read more
Carlos Alcaraz exits ATP Finals at group stage (RTE)
Carlos Alcaraz turned his attention to Rafael Nadal’s Davis Cup farewell after being dumped out of the ATP Finals in the group stage.
The Spaniard was beaten 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 by Alexander Zverev and his exit was confirmed on Friday night when Casper Ruud saw off Andrey Rublev to claim second spot in the group.
Alcaraz went into the tournament in Turin struggling with illness and managed just a single win in the group stage against Rublev.
His early exit does at least mean he has more time to prepare for Spain’s Davis Cup opener against the Netherlands in Malaga on Tuesday, which is sure to be an emotional occasion as tennis prepares to say goodbye to Nadal. Read more
