The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, will embark on a 10-day historical visit to Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, in June, to strengthen the cultural ties between both countries.
The visit will strengthen the cultural affinities between the blacks in Brazil and Yorubas in Nigeria with a view to using cultural heritage to harness an economic partnership that will benefit the two countries.
Mr Moses Olafare, the Director, Media and Public Affairs of Ooni’s Palace, made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, in Ile-Ife.
Olafare said the trip would also strategically enable the African foremost monarch to showcase tourism potential of Nigeria to attract Brazilians to the country under the diaspora programme. Read more
