A security outfit in Anambra State has sparked controversy after announcing plans to arrest women seen in public without bras or panties.

The directive, delivered via a public address system, was captured in a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

In the footage, an official, speaking in Igbo, claimed the order was issued by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, adding that women wearing only panties in public would also face arrest.

The announcement has drawn mixed reactions, with many questioning its enforceability and implications.

Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani took to X to express skepticism, asking, “How can the security outfit verify ladies’ compliance?”

He also wondered if the directive applied to men.

As of now, the Anambra State government has not issued an official statement to confirm or deny the security outfit’s claims.

The development has ignited debates on social media, with critics calling the move an overreach and an infringement on personal freedoms.
