Osimhen, Oshoala confident ahead of CAF awards (Punch)

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala, have both expressed their desire to win their categories at the CAF Awards.

While Osimhen was nominated for the African Youth Player of the Year award alongside fellow Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Oshoala is in contention for the Women’s Player of the Year award alongside Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout and South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana.

In separate interviews with our correspondent, both players said they were happy to be nominated for the awards.

They however said they were not under any pressure and believed the best player would emerge winner. Read more
