Osinachi and Chinyere: May we not die in the hands of those we love

In the last few days, news reports have been flying about gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu, believed to have died following injuries sustained when Peter Nwachukwu, her husband, kicked her on the chest.

Peter is currently explaining his part in her death because everyone who knew the late artiste swears that Peter is the murderer, they say he beat her to death!

But another woman had been killed by her husband earlier in the month. Chinyere Ogudoro died on the 1st of April, 2022 just a few hours after returning to Nigeria from Scotland.

Chinyere died along with her brother, Ifeanyi Edoziem after Chinyere’s husband, Benjamin Ogudoro set her and her brother on fire while they slept.

The story set my teeth on edge.

It didn’t make sense at all!

How could Benjamin have successfully set two adults on fire and they weren’t able to draw blood from him before he ran away?

What were two adult siblings doing sleeping in the same room?

It just didn’t add up.

But new reports say Benjamin, now claiming innocence of the two murders said his wife received a call when he was talking to her in their bedroom. She told him the caller also needed to speak to her brother Ifeanyi, so she went to meet Ifeanyi with the phone for the said discussion.

Benjamin claims to have gone out for a drink at a nearby joint; he came back around 2-3am, didn’t know Chinyere was still with her brother in the guest room, saw fire and ran for help.

It’s still a one kind story.

Do you go for a drink and stay long into the early hours after your wife has just returned home from abroad, especially as she had been away for a while?

The normal thing would be, no matter how angry you are with her, you welcome her first before you begin your marital squabbles, right? But sources say, the reason Chinyere even came home was because she had heard her husband was planning to sell the house she built without her consent.

So Benjie went to plot the best way to kill the siblings he suspected were plotting his downfall?

Still scratching my head; the question to ask is, is that enough motive to kill the siblings knowing the other family members may also be privy to same information and this lie could easily be blown open?

It’s still one kind story!

So who locked the siblings in the room?

A source said, it had to be Benjamin.

Again, how did Benjamin overpower both of them and set them on fire?

They were most probably asleep…or was Ifeanyi something other than brother to Chinyere? Why would they be sleeping in the same room?

Well, unless, Chinyere had feared for her life from the get-go; had feared that Benjamin would make an attempt on her life. if that is so, why did she sleep in that house in the first place?

It’s really sad what happened to yet another woman who was killed over the fact that she earns more than her husband and has become a threat to him.

This isn’t saying all women who earn more than their spouses are necessarily targeted by their husbands for murder; it just says when the signs begin to show of a man unable to handle his woman’s success; please dear woman or man if that is the case, run! Physically, put a wide gulf between you and your envious spouse!

Osinachi was warned several times to leave Peter her abusive husband but she stayed, believing he would change. He deprived her of the two cars she was given and made her trek while he drove her cars.

I don’t know if Chinyere was advised about her husband but the fact that she came home to ensure he didn’t sell a building she worked hard to build without her consent is enough to say he is no different from Peter Nwachukwu; men who feel emasculated by their women’s success.

Here’s hoping the police will be able to unravel what truly happened to 46 year old Chinyere and her brother Ifeanyi.

Unlike Osinachi, Chinyere didn’t even live with her husband before he allegedly decided to end her life in a most brutal way. May the Lord save us from uncertain deaths in the hands of those who claim to love us…

Say amen!
