Sequel to the defeat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 16th Governorship election in Osun State, the youths in the party staged a protest in Osogbo calling for the dissolution of the party executive from the ward to the state level.
The youths drawn from across the 30 local government councils of the state converged in Osogbo, the state capital armed with various inscriptions titles: Famodun Must Go, Resort Strong Force Of Our Party, Our Party Is Not Known To Defeat among others called for immediate dissolution of party structure across board.
They called for the constitution of an Independent Caretaker Committee to oversee the structure of the party.
According to the spokesperson, Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun from ward 10, unit 8 Boluwaduro Local Government Council of the state, said composition of an all-inclusive party executive structure is what the party need to return to its winning stride again.
She explained that the politics of segregation and exclusion introduced by the Famodun-led executive was the root cause of the defeat of the party in the just concluded governorship election.
