Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has donated N10 million to St. John Vianney Science College, Ukwulu, Anambra State, in recognition of the school’s outstanding performance at the inaugural UK-Nigeria Debate Championship.
Obi personally visited the school to congratulate the students and staff on their remarkable achievement, describing their victory as a source of pride not just for Anambra, but for the entire nation.
“In recognition of their brilliance and to support their continued growth, I presented the school with a N10 million donation towards infrastructural development,” Obi stated via his official X account.
He emphasized the importance of a sound learning environment in preparing Nigerian children for global competition. Obi encouraged the students to view their victory as a collective triumph for young Nigerians who believe in the power of education and excellence.
To the school’s staff and management, he expressed deep admiration for their dedication, noting that their success proves that rural schools, when properly supported, can achieve global standards.
Obi also commended the school’s proprietor, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso), for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to academic and moral excellence.
“The team at St. John Vianney exemplifies what Nigerian youths can achieve when given the right foundation. I am deeply inspired by their discipline, eloquence, and intellect,” he added.
