The police in Lagos have recorded a breakthrough by arresting eight members of a vicious gang of criminals that specialize in subjecting their victims to several hours of anal sex after dispossessing them of their properties and cash.
The arrest, said to be one of the biggest successes of detectives recently, under the watchful eyes of Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade so far, was made in the highbrow areas of Lekki, Ajah and Ikoyi areas of the state and efforts are in top gear to round up fleeing members of the dreaded gang made up of young men between the ages of 23 and 40. Armed men besiege Oyo State govt secretariat (Channels)
The Oyo State Secretariat in Ibadan was thrown into chaos on Saturday morning as individuals wearing military camouflage, suspected to be agitators, attempted to take over the State Assembly complex and the entire Secretariat.
Armed with weapons, they hoisted a flag within the Assembly premises and sought to occupy the entire Assembly.
Security personnel within the state secretariat called for backup, citing concerns about efficiently demobilizing the agitators. Read more

The Adamawa Police Command has arrested not fewer than 15 suspected criminals for armed robbery and housebreaking in Adamawa.
The 15 suspects, known as the ‘Notorious Shilla Boys,’ were arrested by members of the Anti-Shilla Squad during the Salah celebration.

Junior Pope and four other crew members died when their boat capsized while returning from a movie location on the River Niger.

A high school teacher in Klein, Texas, has been arrested in connection with alleged sex-trafficking of three teenagers, authorities say.
Kedria M. Grigsby, 42, was arrested on Monday on three counts of trafficking a child and three counts of compelling prostitution of juveniles, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a statement.

A Palestinian man has been killed in an attack by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, where tensions remain high amid fears of more violence.
Dozens of settlers stormed the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, killing one Palestinian and wounding at least 25 people after a 14-year-old Israeli settler went missing.

Antalya: Dozens stranded, 10 injured and 1 killed in Turkey cable car crash (BBC)
One person has been killed and 10 others injured after a cable car cabin collided with a broken pole and burst open in southern Turkey.
Passengers plummeted to the ground following the crash on Friday evening after the supporting pylon collapsed near Antalya.

Nigeria skipper William Troost-Ekong believes Victor Osimhen has what it takes to be a future captain of the Super Eagles.
The 30-year-old has been a leader in the national team since making his debut in June 2015 in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Chad.

Ohio State Buckeyes reveal Chip Kelly’s staggering salary as offensive coordinator (SportsNaut)
Last season Chip Kelly was the head coach of the UCLA Bruins, but after six years leading the program, the 60-year-old had enough. Kelly led the Bruins to a middling 35-34 record, including an 8-5 record in 2023. His season concluded with a win in the LA Bowl, yet Kelly evidently wanted to find a different job anyway.
It didn’t take long for Kelly to find his next fit, but he still surprised many around college football by taking a demotion from head coach to offensive coordinator, even if it was at a much more prestigious program with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
While Kelly is not the first or the only coach to seek a reduced role, surely Ohio State had to heavily incentivize the former NFL head coach to sign on as an offensive coordinator, right? We now have our answer. Read more
