Police fire tear gas as protesters attempt to enter Eagles Square

Operatives of the Nigeria Police fire tear gas into the air Thursday morning to disperse a handful of #EndBadGovernance protesters who attempted to gain entrance into Eagles Square to register their feelings about the state of the nation.

The protesters came to the area against the widely publicised information that the Abuja court has approved Moshood Abiola National Stadium. Sighting them, the police who made efforts to let them leave the area were moved to make the area unconducive for the protest and shot canisters of tear gas into the air.

With the canister fired, protesters were not moved as they carried on singing and displaying the national flag and some other placards.

The protesters were also seen in high spirits at Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja.

The protesters are very orderly and determined to expressed their mood. (Tribune)
