Police nab ex-convict for attempted robbery on Mile 12 bridge (TheNation)
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday, arrested one Olayinka Oluwaseyi, armed with knives in Mile 12, after foiling his attempt to rob a motorist of his valuables.
Spokesperson for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement on Wednesday, said the suspect is an ex-convict released from prison in February, for a similar crime.
He said, “Patrol officers of Ketu Division have arrested one Olayinka Oluwaseyi ‘m’, aged 28, while attempting to rob a male motorist on Mile 12 Bridge. The suspect, who was armed with two knives, was arrested on May 13, 2025, at about 1:30 am. (Read more)
Kidnappers demand N500,000 ransom for abducted 5-year-old girl (Punch)
Suspected kidnappers who abducted a five-year-old girl, Memunah Abdulrahman, in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State have contacted her family, demanding a ransom of N500,000.
The girl’s father, Abdurrahman Alimi, disclosed this in an interview with PUNCH Metro.
The missing girl, Memunah Abdulrahman, was abducted on March 9, 2025, while returning home from an Islamic school.
The suspect was reported to have approached Memunah and her sister near a well-known supermarket in the Ejigbo community and lured them inside. (Read more)
Lagos court remands teenager for trafficking 2 persons to Ghana (Guardian)
A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Thursday remanded two women, Loveth Christian, 25, and Damilola Basiru, 17, in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly trafficking two persons.
The defendants are facing a two-count charge of human trafficking and contemporary slavery.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaiya, who did not take the pleas of the defendants, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutors (DPP) for advice. (Read more)
Ex-convict arrested for robbery, three nabbed for defiling teenager in Lagos (Guardian)
An ex-convict, Olayinka Oluwaseyi, 28, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a motorist on Mile 12 Bridge in Lagos, just three months after his release from a correctional facility.
Oluwaseyi, armed with two knives, was apprehended by patrol officers from Ketu Division on May 13, 2025, at about 1:30 a.m. The timely intervention of the patrol team thwarted the robbery attempt.
One accomplice involved in the incident is currently at large, with efforts underway to apprehend him. (Read more)
Court issues bench warrant for arrest of alleged internet fraudster (TheNation)
Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, yesterday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of one Ekweozor Peter, a suspected internet fraudster, for failing to appear in court.
He was arrested alongside others on May 13, 2024, following credible intelligence received by the commission about the alleged criminal activities of a syndicate of internet fraudsters operating at the Indy-Pool Hotel, Ajegunle, Olodi-Apapa.
Ekweozor , according to investigation, opened fake Facebook and Instagram accounts and falsely represented himself as a female pornstar from Atlanta, United States, to defraud unsuspecting users of the internet. (Read more)
