Police seize dogs involved in security guard’s death in Lagos (Punch)
The Lagos State Command has confirmed that it confiscated the three dogs that allegedly killed a security guard, whose identity is yet unknown, in Pinnock Estate, Ilasan, Lekki area of the state.
The police also confirmed the arrest of the owner of the fierce-looking dogs, Salisu Mustapha.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known in a statement released on Wednesday. Read more

Aminat Ibrahim, the wife of former Chief of Defence Staff and ex-Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, has passed away.
She died in Abuja on Tuesday night, November 5, 2024, after a brief illness.
Admiral Ibrahim, who served as Chief of Naval Staff from 2010 to 2012 and as Chief of Defence Staff from 2012 to 2014, is now grieving the loss of his wife. Aminat’s funeral will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in accordance with Islamic rites. Read more
Bandits kill 10 farmers, kidnap Indians, others in Niger (DailyTrust)
At least 10 farmers including women from Wayam and Belu-Belu villages in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have been reportedly killed by bandits.
Residents said six of the victims were beheaded and attackers went away with their heads.
They said many people also sustained bullet wounds and were being treated at a clinic in Kagara, the Headquarters of Rafi LGA. Read more

Minneapolis musician Tyka Nelson, Prince’s only full sibling, died Monday at North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, her son President Nelson confirmed to The Associated Press. She was 64.
A cause of death was not immediately available, and President Nelson said he doesn’t expect to know “for a couple of days.”
Born to jazz musician John L. Nelson and Mattie Della Shaw in 1960, two years after Prince, Nelson was a singer-songwriter, releasing four albums across her career, starting with 1988’s “Royal Blue.” That album produced her biggest hits, “Marc Anthony’s Tune,” which spent 11 weeks on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at No. 33, and “L.O.V.E.,” which spent seven weeks on the chart and topped at No. 52. 8 states approve banning noncitizen voting in state, local elections (UPI)
Eight states voted on Tuesday to amend their constitutions to prohibit the voting of noncitizens in state and municipal elections.
Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin all passed measures on the ballot for these amendments. Each was brought forth by their respective state legislatures, all with Republican majorities.
The language of the amendments varies slightly but the outcome is the same: Counties and municipalities in those states will not allow noncitizens to vote in their elections. Read more

Equatorial Guinea on Tuesday ordered a crackdown on sex in government offices after private videos leaked on social media appeared to show a senior finance ministry official having sex with several women in various places, including his office.
The government said it was taking action because the videos had denigrated the tiny Central African country’s image.

The iconic ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz have been put up for auction.
Per Heritage Auctions, the glamorous heels are currently bidding at $812,500, with the next minimum bid set at $825,000. There are currently 31 days left of bidding, with the auction continuing through Dec. 7.
The slippers being put up for auction comes nearly two decades after they were stolen from Minnesota’s Judy Garland Museum in 2005. Read more

In Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, Abu Osama, who has been displaced by unrelenting Israeli bombardments, called Trump’s election victory a “new catastrophe in the history of the Palestinian people”.
