Students of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia, have dispelled alleged plot to burn down the institution, if the suspended rector of the Institution, Dr. Silas Gyar, was reinstated by the state government.
There were speculations recently that, students of the polytechnic were planning to burn down the institution if the state government reinstates Dr. Gyar, who was suspended over allegations of gross misappropriations of funds while in the office.
Addressing newsmen in Lafia, Japheth Magaji, the President of the Student Union Government (SUG), of the Polytechnic said, the media report of plans by students to burn down the polytechnic was false and a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the good students of the institution. Read more
