A Magistrate Court in Ifo, Ogun State, has sentenced controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, to 3 months’ imprisonment for assault and theft, with an option of a N30,000 fine.

Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo delivered the judgment on Tuesday after Portable was found guilty of assaulting one Osimosu Emmanuel Oluwafemi and stealing musical equipment, including a Yamaha H55 studio monitor, studio interface cables, and an AKG P420 microphone.

The court handed Portable one month in prison or a N10,000 fine for the assault charge and two months in prison or a N20,000 fine for the theft charge.

Portable was first arraigned in April 2023 under charge sheet No. MIF/192C/2023 but was re-arrested last week after failing to appear in court. He had earlier been granted bail of N300,000 with two sureties. (Guardian)
