Spain’s national grid operator has said in its latest update that 99.16% of demand has now been recovered.
Red Electrica added that 100% of the transmission grid substations are now operational.
That update comes as work continued overnight to restore power to the country after the major outage.
It represents a major improvement from where we left you last night, with the country’s prime minister telling reporters that 50% of Spain had electricity at around 10.30pm UK time.
Over in Portugal, operator REN said overnight that power had returned to 85 of the 89 substations.
But the knock-on effects are still continuing this morning, with travel services severely impacted by the outage. (Skynews)
