President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Tam David-West, a professor and former federal minister of petroleum and energy, who turned 82 on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on media & publicity.
The statement maintained that president Buhari felicitated with David-West, an erudite scholar and social critic, describing him as one who has sacrificed “in serving the country he loves so much and worked hard to see grow, especially for the benefit of the poor and underprivileged.”
According to the president, “David-West’s contribution to the economic and political architecture of Nigeria and his clear reasoning, wisdom and guidance through the transition phases of democracy will always be remembered and respected.”
President Buhari commends the former minister, who also served as federal minister of mines, power, and Steel, for always holding leaders to account, assuring him that his views on good governance remain invaluable.
The President “prayed that the Almighty God will grant Prof. David-West longer life and good health.”
